Learn to Dance
Learn this beautiful ancient art form in a comfortable setting
with sensuous music that transports you to another time while celebrating
the wonderful women we are. This dance is for women of all
ages, shapes, sizes, and colors.
Maya
has been studying this beautiful art form for over 2 decades. She has
taught at the Newark Arts Alliance, Soulstice and the George Wilson
Center in the past.
Currently classes are
being held at Maya's dance studio in Stanton, DE. on Tuesdays.
Maya and Ilianna teach workshops for Beginners at the Newark
Arts Alliance and The Gibby Center (in Middletown).

Class Attire & Props
Maya is a distributor for Dahlal Internationale. You may
schedule a time to "shop" for hip scarves, zills, CD's, video's, veils,
harem pants and more. Or we can make a party of it!

Raq'n the Casbah 09, Maya and Ilianna's annual Hafla
will be held on
4/4/09 at the George Wilson Center from
1:30-4:30. $5 to get in. Part of the
proceeds will go to help repair the Everett Theatre's (in Middletown,
DE) roof.
Behind The Veil Performance Hafla 4/19/09 at the
Grange 3201 Limestone rd., Wilmington, DE 19804. Omar
is our feature dancer and we will have other area dancers to
perform, live music, light refreshments, door prizes and more.
Tickets are $14 in advance (contact Maya - see below) or $16 day of
show.
Upcoming classes at Newark Arts Alliance, the first 3 Thursdays in a
row in July. Please contact the Newark Arts Alliance to sign
up. These classes are for beginners.
